Just when you think you have learned about every resource in your county you find out there is more, maybe even just what you need. At the transition workshop I went to I learned about workshops that were focused on transition. My oldest child is 17. He is transitioning into adulthood soon but is currently only a sophomore in high…See More

Do Not Fear Transition

Transition. It is a word I avoid. One that spreads fear in my thoughts. For you see, some days I feel as if I can barely get through the day. You know that feeling, we all know it. Yet, with all my careful planning and working towards success for my three kids who have disabilities you would think I have it all already figured it out. I don’t. Like most moms I am clueless other than my wishes for success. I tend to live day to day.            Before I can continue I should introduce myself. I…See More

We wish you a Merry Autism Christmas!

Today is Christmas, Autism Christmas! Yes you heard me right. I recently received gifts from Autism Santa for my three kids who are on the spectrum.  The gifts come from a man who is known as Autism Santa. I personally don’t know Autism Santa but I love what he has done. It all started with trains. He decided to send a train to a child with autism that he did not know. Then suddenly he…

Why Some Of My Best Friends Are People I Never Met

I can honestly say that some of my best friends are people I never met. The internet has been a source of information, resources and support, yes, support for me. Since we started this path long, long time ago I have become dependent on the internet. I have found Facebook support groups, specific web support groups and social media groups created just to support people with disabilities. I have also…
