About Myself:
Active in the disability community for over twenty years. Co-founder of ASK Resource Center. Cross-trained in navigating both the health care system and the special education system. Completed training to assist military families with children/youth with special health care needs.
About My Family:
Recently re-married after being a single parent for seventeen years. My spouse is a ELCA minister specializing in interium ministry. We have six awesome children living in Arizona, Chicago, New York, and DC with a variety of interesting careers
I'm here because...
Aaron is the youngest child of my four. He was diagnosed at age 9 with a very rare genetic disorder known as Neuhauser Syndrome. He is an easy going, laid back young adult of 22. Aaron likes music, bowling, and horseback riding and being around people. Aaron has a long list of challenges due to the impact of his syndrome that include: significant cognitive delays, physical and fine motor delays; is not a verbal communicator; g-tube fed; cortical vision impairment; absent seizures and uses a wheelchair.
