For many tasks, holding a pencil or toothbrush to grabbing a rake or kayak paddle, gripping can post a barrier and sometimes pain! The Easter Seals Iowa Assistive Technology Program may have supports to demonstrate and/or loan, for these gripping concerns.

Foam Tubing (AT4all # 161654) can be used to build-up the grip of a device or utensil and may make it easier to grip.

Universal Cuff (AT4all # 168317) adds a built-up grip and a strap around the back of the user’s hand to aid in gripping.

GearTie or Industrial Twist Ties (AT4all # 166655) can be used to build-up a grip, create a handle, and a variety of other possibilities.

For more information or to see these devices, visit www.eastersealsia.at4all.com or contact the Easter Seals Iowa Assistive Technology Program by calling 1-866-866-8782 (Toll Free), or 515-289-4069 (TTY) or emailing atinfo@eastersealsia.org.
