Liftware is a line of dining utensils with the potential power to cancel out tremors and cut down on spills. The devices use motion sensors and motors to react to involuntary movements by the user. Liftware may benefit individuals experiencing symptoms related to Parkinson’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, and other conditions resulting in hand tremors.
There are two different models of Liftware: Liftware Steady and Liftware Level. The stabilizing handle of the Steady model is designed to counteract the effects of tremors and shaky hands that may be related to conditions like Parkinson's or essential tremor. The leveling handle of the Level model is designed to accommodate limited hand and arm mobility that may be related to conditions like cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, or post-stroke deficits
Both styles of Liftware are rechargeable and have a battery life of approximately one hour. The cost of each device is $195.00 and includes a spoon attachment and charging system. Additional attachments can be purchased for $35.00 each.
