Being included is really important, but very difficult for persons who are deaf at group events like parties, family dinners, work gatherings, or school study session.
This app isn’t ready yet, but very interesting concept that hopefully will be ready soon.
Researchers have developed the first mobile app to make group conversations possible between deaf people and their hearing peers. The Transcense app “listens” and interprets conversations, providing real-time captioning. It connects multiple smartphones belonging to conversation participants in a room and leverages their microphones so the app can “listen” to those speaking. The conversation is then immediately seen on the cell phone or iPad screen. You can see more about this at https://t.co/R4cFC1UKHJ. They are asking for “crowd sourcing” funding, IPAT is showing this only as information not as an endorsement or recommendation.
